{"id":774,"date":"2017-02-06T14:01:34","date_gmt":"2017-02-06T13:01:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.blog.moveadminister.co.uk\/?p=774"},"modified":"2025-07-24T10:23:51","modified_gmt":"2025-07-24T09:23:51","slug":"your-domain-needs-an-spf-record","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blog.moveadminister.co.uk\/?p=774","title":{"rendered":"Your Domain Needs an SPF Record!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\tIf you have recently exp<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-775\" height=\"119\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blog.moveadminister.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/domains.jpg\" style=\"\" title=\"\" width=\"174\" \/>erienced emails to btinternet.com bouncing back into your inbox then we have a solution for you, and even if you haven&rsquo;t we would advise you continue to read and take the following action anyway.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tA recent change by BT now means that unless your domain (<em>e.g. administersoftware.co.uk<\/em>) has an SPF (<em>Sender Policy Framework<\/em>) record, then emails will be refused and will therefore be returned to you!\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<em>&ldquo;Sender Policy Framework is a simple email-validation system designed to detect email spoofing by providing a mechanism to allow receiving mail exchangers to check that incoming mail from a domain comes from a host authorised by that domain&rsquo;s administrators<\/em>&rdquo; &ndash; see <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sender_Policy_Framework\">https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sender_Policy_Framework<\/a> for further information.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tTo check if your domain has an SPF record go to <a href=\"https:\/\/mxtoolbox.com\/spf.aspx\">https:\/\/mxtoolbox.com\/spf.aspx<\/a> and enter your domain name. If no SPF record is found, then we recommend you contact whoever looks after your domain name(s) and ask them to provide the necessary record for your mail exchange.
